About Us

Sector Focus

Industry specialization provides quantitative and qualitative advantages. We have met and followed the careers of a large percentage of industry senior management. We are intimately familiar with the key metrics and analysis for investment and risks analysis within the Financial sector. Our experience in managing investment exposures through multiple cycles benefits our ability to manage through stress periods when return opportunities are often exaggerated.

Active Hedging

Our active hedging strategy incorporates top-down analysis in setting portfolio net-long weightings which can be widely variable. We view the investing environment as changing with the economic cycle stage and other macro-economic considerations. We actively modify weightings and exposures based on our assessment of a variety of factors such as  economic risks, credit risks and sector valuation.

Process Discipline

The fund employs a fundamental investment strategy to build a portfolio of publicly traded equity holdings predominantly of U.S. regulated financial institutions. The primary valuation strategy centers on forward earnings and book value assessments. Bottom-up valuation analysis also considers other measures such as franchise value in change of control event, expected growth and profitability.
